Subsequent to numerous complaints to the CFC regarding the lack of movement on organizing the Canadian Zonal, the CFC has just today announced that a Zonal will take place later this summer (in August)!
I want to congratulate those who have followed the example of this blog on putting pressure on our elected CFC officials. That being said, however, I personally do not intend to participate in this year's zonal. According to the CFC rules I do not qualify because I have not played enough CFC rated games. Which is fine with me; I am a rules person. Had I been interested in participating then I would have asked that some of my international tournaments be CFC rated (as I have done so in the past).
My interest in the matter of the zonal was not for selfish motives; in my opinion, financial difficulties or not, the CFC has basic responsibilities that either the leadership must respect or resign.

On another matter, numerous readers have asked me to open up this blog to questions. After some thought on the matter, I have decided to compromise: any questions to me about any of the material on this blog can be sent to the following address: spraggettblog@yahoo.com
I will only answer serious inquiries.
